Turning capabilities on and off ("Web research")
Each agent's capabilities are switches. Open them from a project agent's ⋯ → Agent settings, or in Agent Studio on an installed agent. A switch saves at once, and the line under the title says what it affects: Applies to this agent in every project that uses it. AMBA does not make a hidden copy.
- Web research is listed first. With it on, the agent can use web search and open web pages. In chat this needs a search key (Tavily or Brave) in Settings → Connected Accounts. In a process step, Allow looking things up online must also be on.
- When a search key is set but the agent does not have Web research, the agent says so in chat instead of guessing figures. It also tells you that the owner can turn it on in the agent settings.
- The Senior Financial Analyst & Controller and Inventory Reconciliation & Shrinkage Controller agents now come with Web research, for exchange rates, gold and commodity prices and supplier prices. An agent already installed from them gets it once, on update, if its capabilities were never changed after install. Otherwise your choice stays.
🎯 Layer 2: Real-World Project Practice (Project Workspace)
If Layer 1 is the university degree, Layer 2 is real-world on-the-job experience within your company:
- Customized Directly by the User: You provide your specific corporate context, project objectives, target KPIs, and key stakeholders.
- Grounded in Confidential Workspace Files: The specialist analyzes source documents in your Sources and compiles board-ready deliverables directly into your workspace (by default the report folder
reports/). - Focused 4-Field Agent Profile:
- Avatar & Theme Color: Visual attribution in chats and deliverables.
- Specialist Name & Title: Contextual designation (e.g. "Alex — M&A Auditor" or "Sarah — Legal Counsel").

- Project knowledge: no form to fill in. The agent learns the project from its files and from the rules you state in chat, and you can review it in What the agent knows (how it works).

When you send a prompt or click Run Task:
- Intelligent Context Synthesis: The runtime automatically combines the Layer 1 academic foundation (analytical rigor, professional tone) with your Layer 2 project mission (specific objectives, corporate context) into a focused execution directive.
- Cross-Lingual Reasoning Boundary (ADR-020, ADR-074): Tool parameters, formulas and file paths keep their technical form, and the model's reasoning stays in its provider's reasoning channel, never in the answer. All final deliverables and user-facing messages are synthesized in your project's chosen locale (
en,vi,ja,ko). - Deterministic Execution: The agent inspects source data in Sources, drafts models in
